what's up with everyone being on a first name basis, the flyer says "bob pollard" so funny.

the way they pimped out the pollard show "the bob pollard effect" is a slap in the face to the other bands.

my 2 cents.

Pimped out or a fair warning? People are driving and flying to Dayton from all over the US to see Bob in his natural habitat. If they got to to Gilly's a little late and they were already filled to capacity I'd imagine they'd be more than a little disappointed.

Because everyone knows him as Bob. I don't see the big deal.

Pollard has had more success in the past five years alone than all the other bands combined have had in their lifetimes. It's not a disrespect to the other bands, it's a fact, and if you're putting on a show of any kind, you want it to be a success, so you're naturally going to hype the biggest draw you have, and if you're from Dayton, you should be thankful that that dude has been out there professing his love for this town in the first place.

Don't like it? Go sell hundreds of thousands of copies of your LP's on Matador and you might get a little more attention.

I agree with you for the most part. But Pollard has shown little love for this town and I cannot blame him. He was given no respect here until he made a name for himself outside of this pathetic town. I have personally witnessed him describe Dayton as the shithole it is on various stages in quite a few cities.
