Screaming Females

...storming out of New Brunswick, NJ we recently came across Screaming Females and the their new album, Power Move. Coming on like vintage 70s guitar rock fused with 90s Riot Grrrl, this trio rocks but still has a healthy sense of humor. No joking matter, however, is 22-year old Marissa Paternoster's shredfest and howling vocals. In the post-alt world, to see anyone, let alone a female, tear it up on guitar is rare. Make no mistake, Paternoster is a guitarist's guitarist, but hit s a perfect balance by always serving the songs. A fiercely DIY outfit, SF have toured the country relentlessly and will be heading out again next month, kicking things off with a string of dates opening for Throwing Muses.
