VIDEO: Paul McCartney @ Coachella

...just saying it out loud it sounds ridiculous: Paul McCartney in the California desert for a 3-day indie music festival. Seriously, you can't make this stuff up. In all reality, this happened on Friday night. The massive Coachella festival somehow conjured the ex-Beatle to make his first ever festival performance in the US. Watching some of the earlier performances by the likes of Franz Ferdinand, Beirut and veterans like Morrisey and Leonard Cohen, which were very good, and then watching McCartney and his band run through his catalog really just set his legacy in a stunning contrast. i've got no problems with paul, but why the hell is he playing coachella? is this the jumping of the shark for this festival or am i missing something.
