Dayton Daily News Local Music Blog Canceled
...as one of the key influences on the start of this blog you're reading, we were very saddened to hear today that the Dayton Daily News has canceled their Dayton Local Music blog written by Kris Neises due to "budget cuts" at the DDN. While we've done all that we can to keep you up to date on what's happening in Dayton music, Neises's work definitely kept us on our toes. Let's hear it for a fallen comrade...

Kris was a fantastic writer and an even more fantastic person. Maybe he could work for Buddhaden.

i don't get it; killing the very thing (local music news/local music community/local night life) that could keep these papers going (at least for a litle while longer). the dcp is even worse. it's like we're the only city in the country w/o local music support from OUR OWN papers (no sponsoring of shows whatsoever, no show reviews/previews, etc.). buddha den- you are needed now more than ever...
Bummer. I agree wth Anonymous. And 1984 Draft.
Is it bad I didn't know this existed?
