VIDEO: Heartless Bastards "Out to Sea"

...with their new album, The Mountain, in tow, Heartless Bastards hit Letterman last night with a great performance. Guess we missed the memo that they've got a second guitarist in now, which fills in the live sounds with all the extra guitar parts. Even with Letterman's dig in the intro, more than anything else, the juxtaposition of Erika's frilly shirt and drummer Dave Colvin's jacket makes this clip more than entertaining...


...as a bonus, we somehow missed the fact that Heartless Bastards turned in a Daytrotter session a little over a week ago. There's a nice mix of acoustic and full band tracks for yr ears. You can dig into that over here...

Heartless Bastards/The Goody Two Shoes-Tonight @ Canal Street Tavern

...you've got a huge holiday homecoming show tonight over at Canal Street Tavern. On her first return to Dayton since her move to Austin and subsequent lineup change, Erika Wennerstrom will bring Heartless Bastards back to town in advance of the band's new album, The Mountain (due out on Fat Possum Records February 3). Along for the ride are local garage faves, The Goody Two Shoes. Should be a great kickoff to a weekend of great Dayton music....

Lab Partners Announce New Drummer

...late last week Dayton's resident psyche/shoegaze outfit Lab Partners announced they have switched things up in the drummer position. Bidding farewell to longtime drummer Todd Carll, the Partners have brought in ex-Heartless Bastards drummer Kevin Vaughn. Vaughn will step in to help the band wrap up their forthcoming sixth release and gear up for a long-awaited return to live action. You can catch the new lineup on August 30 at Oregon Express....
