...although the kids over Fictionband have been laying low for a while now, they're back for reals and we're teaming up with them to bring you a very special offering. Today we're putting up the first of six, yes SIX, EPs from the highly reclusive Smug Brothers. Featuring the drum stylings of Don Thrasher (GBV, Swearing at Motorists, The New Creatures) among other conspirators, Smug Brothers will issue a new Fortune Rumors EP every two weeks over the next 12 weeks. Dayton Band Playoffs Update....

...preeminent local music critic Don Thrasher has provided coverage of the first round of the 24th Annual Dayton Band Playoffs over at Canal Street Tavern, complete with numerous photos of both The Joose Box and Electric Smoke. Apparently, bands can still sign up to participate in a legacy that includes such Dayton luminaries as The Method, Brainiac, Real Lulu, and Shrug.
